Overview
The accident at the Tokyo Electric Power Company Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant led to the environmental pollution by radiation in 2011. However, the radioactive pollution also existed at the Lucky Dragon (Daigo Fukuryū Maru) incident which occurred about 60 years ago. In this exhibit we reflect people's movements and scientists' activities driven by the Lucky Dragon incident. These people's movements and scientists' activities which mixed and resonated each other opened up a new horizon in the nuclear age. Mr. Yasushi Nishiwaki conducted activities with connections of both parties and created an opportunity of scientists' movements which occurred later.
With the accident at the nuclear power plant in 2011, anti-nuclear movements which had become less visible after years went mainstream. In this exhibit we reflect important events which led to anti-nuclear movements and hunt for clues for us who live after 3.11.
